So, you’ve rooted your Android, Awesome! But however you might be like What now? What after root? Wait, What is all this? What should I even do? Relax! The HackrSpace is here to the rescue!

Honestly, there’s a gazillion of things you could do after Rooting, but today I’ll be summing it all up and showing you just the ABSOLUTELY BEST THINGS YOU COULD DO AFTER ROOTING YOUR ANDROID.

Back it all up!

The first thing you probably should do is have a complete backup of your device. This further gives you the freedom to go crazy and let your imaginations run wild with your Android. In case things go south, guess what? you already have a backup, just flash it back and have it all new and shiny again!

The best app I’ll recommend is Titanium Backup. It has lots of options and is one of the (if not The Best) best Backup apk(s) out there! And 1up, I just linked the Pro version 😛 because free? Neh! We’re Hackers remember? 😉  

Custom Recovery : TWRP

Android Recovery is mode usually accessed by a combination of Power + Volume Buttons and is used for, as the name suggests, recovering your android in case something goes wrong. 

TWRP stands for Team Win Recovery Project. What this basically does is that it replaces your Stock Android Recovery with a Custom Recovery with truly enhanced functions like flashing ROMs, ZIPs and even Backups. Well, in certain cases, you’ll actually have to install TWRP to get ahead with the rooting process. 

TWRP varies from device to device, so you could just head over here and look up for your specific device. 

Busybox

Well, your device is not technically rooted until you install Busybox. All you need to know is just that these are a bunch of dependencies and Libraries required for Root apps to function properly. 

It is available for free from the Play Store so just go ahead and download it

Root Explorer

Once Rooted you now have access to all the previously restricted internal files of your device. You can mess around backup or modify particular files and do whatever you want. But just keep in mind that these are the internal files and playing around with them without knowing anything could possibly mess up your device.

There’s a ton of Root Explorers available, just try them out and check what works for you best. Again, here is the pro version for Root Explorer 😛

Goodbye Bloatware!

Finally you could just get rid of those useless crap that ships with your phone and are eating up a hell of space just sitting there, useless. Hell, you could even get rid of the Calculator! (Just saying :P) 

Again, a lot of options but I prefer System App Remover. Also available on the play store for free, so go ahead.

Custom ROMs

You can now completely change the look and feel of your device, along with increasing the Battery Life or Performance and the the overall Responsiveness. Also most custom roms comes with a ton of new features which are usually not available otherwise.   

Again, Custom ROMs are different for different devices and have a shitload of different varieties to choose from! Just google it up for your specific device or head over here to the XDA Developers.

Stack up more RAM!

Yes, you heard that right. Rooting gives you the ability to technically increase your device’s RAM! And no it doesn’t require tearing apart your device and adding more hardware, so relax. 

The idea behind this is to use your Micro SD or Memory Card’s storage space as Virtual RAM for the device. And the best part, it’s much more easier than it sounds! 

There might be several apps available for this, but ROEHSOFT RAM Expander is what I prefer. Give it a try!

BONUS : Also there’s another app Link2SD, almost similar to the RAM Expander, but what is does is helps you to move more apps and even app data to your SD card, allowing you to free up more Internal Memory.

AMP up those Sounds…

Viper4Android : This is honestly one of my Personal Favorites. Ever feel like your device is not pushing out enough Sound Output? Big time BassHead? Audiophile? This one does it all! I’ll never be able to emphasize it enough, You just HAVE TO give it a shot! Regardless of what Earphones or Headphones you are using, the amount of Equalization options and the impact it has on the Sound is UNBELIEVABLE! 

Free In-App Purchases!

Well, yes you could also enjoy paid in-app content for free using certain tools out there. The best one being Lucky Patcher. But keep in mind that it won’t work for online Apps and also not even for some offline APKs. But nevertheless, it’s worth a try.
